They’re BAAAACK . . .

Remember those bees that were in my friend’s office? Well, they must have followed me home!

About 6 weeks ago, I got a message from the gentleman who services my well equipment that I had bees swarming near a water spigot attached to my house. Not wanting to kill the bees and knowing that bees are endangered, I contacted a Bee Keeper. He said that he would stop by in the next few days.

WRONG! Interesting, there must have been a number of bee swarms as he didn’t show up. I thought things were taken care of and went blindly about my business. The next thing I know, I get another call from the same gentleman as before telling me the bees are still there. WHAT????

I was  visiting my friend at her office when I received the call. I have an out of area phone number so maybe Mr. Bee guy didn’t come by my house because he thought it was a joke. I asked if I could use my friend’s office phone. HAH, Mr. Bee Keeper  said he would be right over and could I please text him the address again. Wow, he wasn’t kidding. He literally went right over.

Mr. Bee Keeper collected some of the bees, moved them into a temporary ‘hive box’ and coaxed the queen to come along too. He left the box there for a few more days and then texted me to let me know that the bees were contained, he had sealed up the holes and had taken all the bees away.

I had the all clear! Thank goodness because the irrigation company was coming the following Monday to repair the sprinkler system. I told them that the bees were gone. YIPPEE!!! WHEW!!! That was a relief.

I put the payment for the irrigation work in an envelope and taped it to the front door. I was going to be gone all day running errands and visiting with friends. Again, I went blindly about my business.

When I returned home, I thought I saw the envelope still on the front door. Weird. Maybe I had the wrong date. I called the company the next morning and waited all day for a call back. I even emailed them. Nothing. The next day I got a call that the work could not be done because . . .wait for it . . . the Bees were BACK!

As soon as I got home, I went around to the side of my house and Yup. There they were. Trying to get back into the same area.  Another call to Mr. Bee Keeper. Don’t know what is so special about my house but bees seem to like that one wall.

In the morning, I saw a new ‘hive box’ gathering the bees. Hopefully this time they will stay away.

Maybe . . . Bees are my spirit animal. . .
