About Me

Hi. I am Frantastic Fran. I was born and raised in Southern California in the Los Angeles area. I lived most of my life in the suburbs until Winter of 2010 when I took the big step to move to Florida! Believe me when I say that I never, ever thought that I would move out of Los Angeles, let alone the State!

My husband of almost 27 years passed away from lung cancer in 2004. Because of health issues, I lost my job 6 months later.  My dear mother passed just after Mother’s day the next year, 2005. And then, my kids decided to get their own lives. LOL.

Talk about an empty nest. They moved in and out a few times. They had lives to be lived which did not always include me.  Eventually, the cost of maintaining a large home and the general expenses of living in California forced me to evaluate things and what I might want to do going forward.

After careful cost analysis of various states and cities, I chose the Fort Myers area of Florida and settled in Cape Coral. It is on the Gulf side and thank goodness for me, the ocean is still on the west side, like California. I have family in the area so that was one of the deciding factors. Nevada was an alternate choice but I did not know anyone.  So, Cape Coral, Florida it was.

In the Fall of 2021, I made the choice to move back to Southern California. Being closer to my children and Grandchildren was the strongest reason. I am getting used to how much things have changed in 11 and 1/2 years. The weather too is another thing to recon with.

I love to write and do lots of other things.  Enjoy . . .

  1. I just finished reading the the first book of the Maggie series and totally enjoyed. You’ve always been entertaining telling stories and recounting events that it’s no surprise to me that you’ve now started to adventure into the world of print.
Very well done and I am looking forward to Yours and Maggie’s continuing adventures.
Congratulations on the single step of your new journey.
