Psychic or Psycho?

HeadAh, the joys of a Girls Night Out.

A friend sent me an invite to a ‘Wine Pizza and Psychic’ event Downtown. A few other friends were going and it sounded like fun. Two of us planned to drive together. We arranged a meeting point and a time.

I drove us to Downtown and found the perfect parking space right in front of our destination. The store wasn’t quite ready to start the festivities so we walked around a bit and ended up at another store ‘Market Earth’ where another friend was going to meet us.

What a fun store Market Earth is. Anne found a fun card for her son’s birthday. The front says; Happy Birthday to a wonderful, funny, handsome, caring (and a lot more glowing adjectives), inside: (your Mother picked this card).

Anne paid for the items that she had found just as our friend, Melody walked up to the door. We then walked around some more and headed back to the first store for the ‘Wine, Pizza and Psychic Party.’

We were told that the Psychic was a bit late but would be there shortly. “Please put your name on the list” she said.

Anne put her name down first, me next and then Melody added her name. Carolyn arrived as we were writing our names. Carolyn added her name on the list as well. One more friend, Glenda, was scheduled to join us but she was running late.

“She’s here! Oh, but she broke her toe so give her a minute to get settled” the Owner said.

Anne asked her “Did she know she was going to fall?” Always the jokester, that Anne.

Anne’s name was called and she went to the small room where the readings were being done. Shortly thereafter, we began to hear joyous laughter from the room.

“Wonder what’s going on” Melody said.

“Yeah, sounds as if she is having a good time. Maybe it’s really good news!” I replied.

Anne came out with a smile on her face and then it was my turn.

Well, I hadn’t really prepared any questions or figured out what I might want to ‘know about my future’ so when she asked me my questions, I just said, “You tell me. I didn’t think of anything to ask.” Of course later I had lots of things I could have asked. I paid for 10 minutes.

She ‘saw’ that I have been on a spiritual journey and that I am at peace with myself. Also there is a relationship that is weighing heavily on me and that I should not let it as it is better this way. The relationship takes too much effort and time on my part and it is best to leave it as is and not try to ‘fix’ anything.

The next thing she had to say was that I was going to meet someone. He would have the initial R in his name and would have Green eyes.

“Oh, Times up, next” she said.

Now it was Melody’s turn. Hmmm what would she find out???

Anne and I began to compare notes as to what we had learned. Anne was told that she has spent a long time ‘taking care of people’ and that it was now time for her to take care of herself and enjoy life. She would meet someone soon. Anne asked if it was a male or female. Male was the reply, Anne was intrigued.

I told Anne about my reading and that I too was to meet someone and he would have an R initial in his name and have Green Eyes.

Melody came out of the room and said “That was amazing! I need paper to write down what she said before I forget!”

Melody had paid for 20 minutes. Her reading was very interesting, not only did the Psychic ‘know’ that she had recently started dating someone but also knew about his housing issues. In addition, she asked Melody if she was deathly afraid of water. Melody is so afraid of water that she doesn’t swim, take bathes if the water is above her waist, go into deep water or even take a shower where the water hits her face.

“I have been afraid of water since I can remember. I don’t even like to take bathes where the water is too high.” Melody told the Psychic.

The Psychic then asked Melody “I don’t quite know how to ask this but, do you believe in past lives?

Melody said “Yes.”

‘Well, the reason for your fear of water is that In your most recent past life, you were murdered by drowning. If you can come to terms with that, it is possible that you will be more acceptable of doing things on or in the water.”

Needless to say, that ‘Blew Melody’s Mind.”

“Well, how many minutes do you pay for?” Anne asked Melody.

“20 minutes. It was awesome.” Melody replied.

“And, how many minutes did you pay for Fran?” Anne asked me.

“I asked for 10 minutes, why?”

“Darn, if I’d paid for 5 more minutes I might have found out more about my mystery man! Maybe his eye color and name!” She replied.

I believe the lesson here is 5 minutes with a Psychic is too short, 20 minutes might be too long but 10-15 might be just the right amount of time. Not too much but just enough. I just need to keep an eye out for a Green Eyed man with the initial R in his name.

  1. Ah, yes, girls’ night out! Your details put me right there! (o: What a delicious blend of personalities and the intrigue of “what will the psychic say to them?” As with all good writing, I wanted to read more! A fun read, thanks!
