Oh what a day I have ahead of me. Lots of things to do and accomplish before guests starting arriving from my Fifty’s themed party. Of course, I wake up before my alarm and can’t go back to sleep. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I feed my dog, Diva, make coffee, check my emails and read my newspapers, move furniture around and still have time before I need to leave. I take my time getting dressed and pack my purse with a water bottle and my ipad. Time to leave for book club and grocery store. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I gather my things, give Diva a treat, set the alarm and lock the door. I pull out of the garage and decide to order coffee and some ‘egg bites’ through an app on my phone. I have plenty of time. As I pull into the drive thru lane to pick up my coffee, my phone rings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It’s the alarm company. There is movement in my house. I talk with the nice gentleman and we surmise that there isn’t anyone in the house. I clear it and reset the alarm. My eggs and coffee are ready and I head out again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I need a few things for the party and since I’m early for book club, chose to go the the grocery store first. About 20 minutes later . . , as I’m driving, my phone rings. It is the alarm company, AGAIN. More movement in my house! What??? That darn Diva. She must be getting up on the furniture that I shifted around and is setting the movement thing off. We discuss my options. I can put my alarm to ‘stay’ and further movement won’t set the alarm off. I am going to have a talk with Miss Diva when I get home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The rest of the morning is uneventful. No more calls from the alarm company. Book club goes well. We set up our books for the next 6 months and then go to lunch. (What am I nuts? I have 35 people coming to my home in mere hours)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I check my camera and all is well. The cleaning crew is there. I head home to get start the final prepping for my party. I pet Diva and give her a stern talking to about getting up on the table and other furniture. She just looked at me as if I was nuts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
People begin arriving for the party. Diva welcomes each and everyone of them. I am relating the alarm issue to a couple of friends and they began to laugh. I ask, \u201cwhat’s so funny? I’m sure it was Diva getting up on the table over there.? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Oh, I don’t think so.” Matt replied. “Our friends just went through this. The alarm company kept calling to tell them there was movement in their house. They couldn’t figure it out either until they got home and found the Helium Birthday Balloons floating around the living room.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I to laugh “Poor Diva! I’ve been blaming her all day and look, it was those balloons over there! The fan must have made them move just enough to set off the alarm. Too Funny. I guess I owe Diva an apology and an extra treat!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We all had a good laugh. I have since moved the balloon to another area of the house that won’t set the alarms off. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Next time your alarm goes off for seemingly no reason, Look for Balloons. . .Not Zebras! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
